Friday, February 24, 2006 Nut Hut Escapee At the present time my school is in an 8 story bank building. There are several different offices in this building including the mayor's office and the IRS. We have been getting strange people come down to our class looking for the IRS building so they could get help with their taxes and we kindly redirect them as they come. Yesterday about an hour before class was over this gentleman in his 50's, tall, carrying a bag, and stinking of some bad liquor enters our classroom. He says that he needs help and we try to direct him to the IRS floor. He then acts like he is going to pass out so we sit him down in a chair and I run upstairs to get help. The security guard comes down and the guy starts talking about people trying to kill him and that he needs to hide! We now know he is wack so they call the Alb police dept. Upon waiting for 45 MINUTES for APD, the guy starts saying that he needs to kill us, that he has a gun and a bomb in his bag! I tell the class to leave the room one at a time until the police get there, it was a very scary situation. Finally, Mike, the only man in our class gets him to lay down and notices a Veteran's hospital band on his leg, he had escaped from the nut hut! Finally a police officer comes to get him and he went away in an ambulance, unwillingly!
